Vera graduated from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh in 2016 and to date has been a practising therapist specialised in pediatrics for 9 years. Her clinical experiences include assessing and working with children diagnosed with developmental issues such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Sensory Processing Disorders, Dyspraxia, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Developmental Delays (DD), speech and language delays; as well as learning difficulties such as Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and working memory deficits. Her experience also spans across a variety of settings ranging from clinic based therapy to mainstream and special education school programs, from preschool up until secondary school level. These programs have benefitted at-risk youths with the development of life skills, as well as students flagged for issues with social skills and emotional regulation in the classroom.

A strong advocate for relationship building, Vera believes that the bond between caregivers, healthcare professionals and the child is so valuable to the intervention process as it encourages active engagement, honest communication, and facilitates carryover of learnt skills into the natural environment of the child. She invests time to develop a therapeutic bond with each child which is an integral factor in achieving successful therapy outcomes.

Vera has always been drawn to working with children, which inspired her to pursue helping children with special needs and learning difficulties. Her bubbly personality enables her to connect with them easily and her patience and positive attitude also enables her to work well with children of varied ages.

Vera also believes in continual self-development and professional development, to keep up with current treatment practices and exploring of new and novel approaches. She actively takes up courses and workshops and is currently pursuing extended certifications in sensory processing and social behavioural interventions.
